Texas Bluebonnet Award Books 2012-2013

It is that time of year! Time for to start reading the Texas Bluebonnet Award Master List for 2012-2013. There are some really great books this year! I have read several. (You know I sneak books to read at night when all the lights go out in the library.) I am going to highlight different books on the blog, but you can also find more information on the Bluebonnet Award Page.

The first book on the Texas Bluebonnet Award List this year is Aliens On Vacation by Clete Barrett Smith.

This is the story of David, known to all his friends as Scrub, who is sent from his home in Florida to spend the summer with his grandmother, Sunshine, in Washington State. Scrub doesn't know much about his grandmother but isn't too thrilled to arrive and find that her home is actually the Intergalactic Bed & Breakfast Inn. Scrub becomes suspicious when he notices that the guests at the Intergalactic Bed & Breakfast are behaving strangely. It doesn't take long to for Scrub to figure out that the bed and breakfast is not intended for humans, but is instead for aliens who are vacationing on Earth. Scrub quickly jumps in to help his grandmother entertain the guests while keeping their true identies a secret from the nosy town sheriff. This is a fun filled story with lots of twists and turns.
